Aucklanders may be excited to finally get their hands on a new restaurant and drink outlet after it was revealed earlier this year that the City of Auckland was moving ahead with plans for a new, locally owned and operated food and drinks shop.
In a report published in February, the Auckland Council said the City had plans to open a new shop in the Auckland Town Centre in 2019, which would include a food and beverage counter, and a cafe.
The council also announced plans to create a new dining and leisure area in the Town Centre and develop a new location in a new building.
However, the new location is currently a warehouse, which means it will be closed to the public during construction.
There is currently no opening date for the new restaurant, which will be located on the ground floor of the old Town Centre.
Council said the plans were being discussed at the time and that the first restaurant would be open by 2019.
However that has since changed, and the council has now announced the opening date will not be announced until 2019, when the City will be looking to move forward with a new outlet.
There will be a new cafe and a food court on the site, but they will not include a full bar, and will instead focus on a cafe area, catering for visitors who want a good meal in a comfortable environment, and those who want to sit down and have a drink.
The new food court will be open at all times, and be staffed with the same people who work at the existing cafe.
In addition, the council is also looking to open an indoor food court at the site to offer a better experience for visitors, and to allow the site space for future cafes.
There are currently two locations of the new food outlet: in the former New Zealand Post building, on Wellington Road, and in the new Town Centre building, next to the new building at The Park.
The current location of the restaurant is still under consideration, but is expected to open later this year.
