China has announced a big push for its domestic food industry.
The government will invest in domestic food, beverage and drinks, and start selling them directly to consumers, according to state media.
It will offer the cheapest and most convenient ways to buy the goods at a lower cost, the Xinhua news agency reported, adding that it will allow consumers to pay for the products online.
The move is aimed at reducing the costs of food and beverages and helping the economy grow faster.
More to come.
